Harvard Business Review (Feb. 2017) – “Your success is shaped by your genes”

‘Missio Dei’ – God’s Mission

“The Trinity is, by nature, ‘sending.’ The Father sends the Son into the world to save it, and the Father and the Son send the Spirit into the world. And now, the Spirit is sending the church.” (Tim Keller, Center Church)

2. GOD’S SENDING HAS A CLEAR PURPOSE.

“The mission is not just recruitment to our brand of religion; it is alerting people to the universal reign of God.” (David Bosch)

The Kingdom of God (Already, but not yet)

“And then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory.” (v.26)

Salvation (Sanctification & Glorification)

The Kingdom of God (Already & Not yet)

Liberalism vs. Conservatism

3. GOD’S SENDING HAS THE CLEAR DESTINATIONS.

“And the gospel must first be proclaimed to all nations.” (v.10)

“And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” (Matthew 24:14)

U.U.P.G. – Unengaged, Unreached People Groups

“For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places; there will be famines. These are but the beginning of the birth pains. But be on your guard. For they will deliver you over to councils, and you will be beaten in synagogues, and you will stand before governors and kings for my sake, to bear witness before them.” (v.8-9)

Closing: We are called to be sent.
